Vintage and Antique Inspired Creations

I love to use vintage and antique elements in my designs. It is the quality and "patina" that these items have that intrigue me so. I also love to think that I am creating something unique for such a special occasion with these rare materials. Each piece that I make is carefully thought out to make the most of the elements chosen. Here are a few of these for your enjoyment.
Vintage ecru alencon lace trims this silk ring bearer pillow. I paired it with an ivory rose and satin double face ribbons. It measured about 8 inches square.

This is a vintage whitework that is layered over a cream dupioni silk. In the center of the pillow is a faceted mother of pearl bead. I wanted to keep the detail on this pillow simple to showcase the beautiful embroidery.
This is available for sale in my Etsy store. It is Victorian era net lace. I love the raised design and placed it over a taupe sash to bring out the detail.
This antique inspired bloom features hand cut tulle and lace petals. I adore the champagne and crystal detail in the center. It is so romantic and fanciful. This is available for sale here.

Bridal Dream Team Favorite Things Challenge

Here is my entry for the Bridal Dream Team "Favorite Things" Challenge. As if I could pick a favorite but this would be in the running. I think it is a beautiful stand out piece and it can be customized with any color roses.
Voting will continue until the 17th of February.

Hand cut and formed dupioni silk petals make up these gorgeous roses that feature their own sparkle courtesy of silver glass beads and Swarovski crystals. Their form is accented with beaded silver leaf appliques.

Each corner is detailed with silver glass beads and a Swarovski crytal. This pillow itself is constructed out of ivory bridal silk satin and wide double face satin ribbon. Also features a ribbon across the back to help the ring bearer carry the pillow and is hand tufted with a mother of pearl button. Measures about 8 inches square not including the drops on the corners.

*Please note: This can be special ordered with custom colored roses.*

A Tribute to the Peony

I love peonies and the fact that they only bloom for such a short time in the Spring makes me a little bit sad. For me the allure lies in the really fluffy blooms of pinks and deep fuschia. I have planted several plants in my garden and I hope to see masses of flowers in the Spring but we will see... Until then I have to turn to my newest creations. There will be more to come with peonies soon and I will be posting it all here.
