Just listed this new rose on Etsy. I have been inspired lately by the hand formed silk petals and vintage rhinestone centers. I have some ideas for these, I guess I'll see what pops out next.

FOR DAD

I was eating lunch with my dad a while back and he pointed to a gathering of cobalt goblets and said that was his favorite color forever and ever. Dad is a great mixture of things. He is smart, funny, rugged and in so many, many ways an artist. So naturally when I made this I thought of him. Thank you Dad for being so inspirational. I love you.

GOODBYE SUMMER

Today was the first day that really felt like fall here. This is a picture from my campground this summer. Gorgeous right? Some things are hard to let go of. I do know this though... Pumpkin spice and ghouls are headed my way and who could say no to those faces?

SET YOUR DRESS APART

A vintage rhinestone brooch like this one above is a great way to set your dress apart. I adore this brooch and have had it for quite some time. Plans always change for this piece but something about the simplicity of just pinning it to a sash draws me in.

A WALK IN THE PARK

No really, this is actually a walk in the park. It was a gorgeous day and I took my camera with me. Walking under this weeping willow tree and looking up was a pretty sight I hoped to capture. I love the way the light diffuses through the leaves as they rustle in the soft breeze.

This goose is the envy of the entire gaggle with his chic fashion forward collar. It's his ultra confidence that helps him pull off this daring look.

Oh and sometimes it's good to let people see your roots. They helped make you who you are today and that is a beautiful thing.

Isn't the water incredibly still here for being a river? The eerie looking metal gate resting on the bottom especially caught my eye and piqued my interest. It's strange to see things in the entirely wrong setting. I would like to know that backstory and what that jerk gate did to deserve such a fate.

This is just a hop, skip and a jump downriver. Just goes to show you how fast circumstances can change and there is something to enjoy everywhere you look.

A NEW CHALLENGE!

Changing seasons is an appropriate name for this beautiful amber jeweled bridal accessory. You can use this with all your "changing seasons" as a belt, cuff, headband or even a choker.

This piece itself is constructed out of black silk taffeta,double face satin ribbon, vintage rhinestone pieces, genuine freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals. This is a one of a kind piece.

Measurements are: The beading is almost 11 1/2 inches long with a 1 inch silk taffeta strip before the attached ribbon. The ribbons measure 2 yards long for a total of 4 yard length.

NEWEST ROSE

Some images of my newest handmade silk rose. I wanted to create something a lot different this time so this is a varied petal style and the center is a huge vintage rhinestone piece just like you find in real roses in nature (wildest dreams). Here are a couple custom orders that I just finished. The first one is a pillow that is made from lavender satin, ribbons and green taffeta. Topped off with a cluster of roses too.

LADY OF THE STUDIO

I would like to introduce you to the lady of the studio. No, it's not me... it's her. She is my greeter and pseudo companion standing steadfast in the corner. I see her so much I may not notice her as much as I used to. I guess that is inevitable with anything that you come into contact with on a regular basis but I know she is special. Once belonging to my Grandmother this represents a large portion of the decor that I remember from her house. The distilled image of that atmosphere if you will. Remaining ever calm and serene at every turn and design shift.

NEW PILLOWS - VINTAGE MATERIALS

Just a little product spotlight about some new pillows created using vintage or antique materials. I love using this sort of thing in my designs because it brings a layer of interest and also uniqueness to the item I am making. Above we have a silk ring bearer pillow with vintage velvet ribbon and flower lace applique. This is for the antique or vintage inspired wedding.

Savoring the last bit of flowers that I will have from my yard this year. Of course I don't want to be selfish so I snapped this picture to share and added my own faux wall script. Love this equation: Opalescent antique glass + fresh flowers + simple backdrop = Gorgeous!

MORE SILK ROSES PLEASE

I wanted to feature my newest flower creation in different applications, most of all in new bridal sashes. These silk dupioni roses are handmade and also available in a variety of fabrics and colors. Special orders are welcome so don't be shy! The rose above is ivory dupioni with silk chiffon petal accents and a rhinestone center.

You can change the look of the flowers just by adding a different color ribbon. Here I have illustrated three examples of ribbon pairings with the same rose brooch.

One of my favorites, the Three Rose Sash in ivory dupioni. This just looks like romance.

I am in the process of designing more new styles to offer. I know certain things are going to be signature pieces and perrenial favorites. I have several combinations of materials waiting for their turn to be pulled together. It's always so much fun to see what appears from the spark of inspiration.

BACK IN BLACK

Black is a huge wedding accent color lately so I just had to produce a little eye candy for you inspired by this dramatic choice. Above is a silk dupioni ring bearer pillow with a black esprit net overlay. I think this looks like lingerie for your rings with just the right amount of innocence.

This is the black Rapture Rose brooch in silk taffeta. Perfect as a bridal sash to add that pop of color to your dress. Completely handmade from the best silks and custom orders are welcome.

I did not make this but had to share. It is an antique handmade velvet leaf spray. Can it get more gorgeous than this? Looking closely at it you can see all the handstiching on the back. I gasped when I found this and promptly made my purchase to add this to my inventory. I am not sure what this will end up being a part of yet but I like the idea of this as part of a bridal sash.

And of course no bride would be complete without something for her hair. This is a playful take on the classic feathered flower. It consists of several "ingredients" such as silk taffeta petals, silk floral petals, esprit net, feathers and a rhinestone button.

This is Lisa, one of my very good friends. I got to make the flower girl baskets, hair flowers and ring bearer pillow for her wedding. She went with a white satin and beaded pink peony design with fuschia accents. Lisa and I have been friends for about 13 years but really, who is counting? She has always been a wonderful friend. Plus anybody who can put up with me and my sarcasm saturated jokes for that long should really get a prize so I hope she will continue to let me hang around from time to time.

This wedding took place at a beautiful botanical garden. Here comes the first flower girl of the ceremony.

And the third, just ADORABLE aren't they! Any bride should know that the little ones will always give you a run for your money.

Had to include this one, it is fun and spunky just like I like my ladies to be. Thank you Lisa! It was a beautiful wedding and I am glad that I could be a part of it and watch you get married to your great husband Shannon. I just hope that he has as much patience for my jokes as you.
