DARRYL AND ALLYSON

You may remember what I have deemed my favorite blog comment EVER posted here by Darryl. If not, here is a refresher course:

Darryl said... Hi Marie,
My name is Darryl and I am Allyson’s proud new fiancĂ©e. I used your pillow as an integral part of my proposal. I proceeded to get our engagement ring , and placed it on your ring bearer pillow. I entered the room , bent down on one knee , and then proposed to my beautiful bride to be. With tears of joy, she made me the happiest man ever by saying YES! To see that look on her face meant the world to me. Your creation helped make it all come together , and I can’t thank you enough. You are now part of the story of Darryl and Allyson.
With deepest appreciation
Darryl
After hearing such a romantic event that one of my ring bearer pillows got to play a little part in I was thrilled to say the least. I printed out the comment and thrust it into the face of anybody that would dare come near me in all my glee, it had made me so happy. But the story does not end there... I had received this email from Allyson recently:

Good day Marie,
My name is Allyson. I was blessed to receive one of your gorgeous ring pillows. After reading your blog, I see that my fiancé Darryl, has actually written your "Favourite Blog Comment" :)
We wanted you to see one of our Engagement Photo's. It shows us with our "Proposal Pillow". This was shot on our recent trip to Las Vegas.
Your pillow now has some major Airmiles on it, Marie! :)
~ Seattle to Toronto ~ Toronto to Vancouver ~ Vancouver to Las Vegas ~ and back to Vancouver!

To be able to take part in such a wonderful story is a privilege but it is made even better by such sweet people who would share these details with me. I am so grateful that I get to see a bit of the story of Allyson and Darryl unfold. Thank you for sharing, it means the world to me.

NEW TULLE ACCENT OFFERINGS

Fresh out of the Emici Bridal studio are these tulle accented offerings. This first one is Lovely Luly. Luly is lovely, refined and dramatic in design. An ivory silk satin ring bearer pillow with one of my favorite pieces of mother of pearl set upon a bed of layered tulle ruffles and hand beaded with genuine freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals.

This ring bearer pillow took many, many hours to complete and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Lovely Luly is one of a kind.

This is the Tasha ring bearer pillow. Tasha is playfully glam. An ivory ring pillow with off white accents constructed out of dupioni silk, luxe double face satin ribbon, hand ruffled tulle, silk chiffon, feathers and a vintage rhinestone button. This pillow is one of a kind.

The Vivienne silk ring pillow. Hand ruffled ivory tulle flower with silk chiffon accents beaded with genuine freshwater pearls and crystal quartz. A perfect combination of a simple pillow with a burst of hand crafted detail. This will be available soon in ivory also. You can see these pillows for sale on my website http://www.emicibridal.com/.

THE LEONA CHARLIZE

I have been chomping at the bit to reveal this brand new project to you. It gives me great pleasure to introduce to you The Leona Charlize bouquet.

Comprised of hand cut petals of various gorgeous silk fabrics, faceted peridot gemstones, silver rhinestone clusters, vintage brooches and lace. Each flower is its own individual piece with a green dupioni silk wrapped stem. I created this one of a kind bouquet for the lovely Jo from Peacock Invitations, she is setting up a photo shoot to promote handmade in the wedding industry at a secret European/Mediterranean location.

I have been thinking about concepts for a bouquet made out of silk flowers a lot so when she asked me to create one I was thrilled to say the least. Each rhinestone cluster is pieced together and stitched to the flower by hand. I hope you enjoy the Leona Charlize as much as I do.

CONGRATULATIONS AMY

The winner for the Mega Peacock giveaway on Brenda's Wedding Blog has been announced and I am so excited to be able to work with her. Congratulations Amy on your winning comment!

"I read this blog religiously and can't believe this week's giveaway centers around peacocks! I had the absolute WORST time choosing colors for my April 30, 2011 wedding and my mother kept asking me what they were. Finally, a friend suggested a peacock theme and it was a definite AHA! moment. I love all the bold, rich colors involved and they would fit with my outdoor bay-front San Diego wedding perfectly. I asked my fiance what he thought and he said, "I love it! Peacocks are natural beauties just like you" (I can't wait to marry this man). Since then, I've been obsessed with all things peacock; Did you know they are the national bird of India (a country I recently visited and LOVED) and they were revered in many ancient cultures? It's a great wedding theme and I couldn't be more excited. We are paying for the wedding ourselves so this would help immensely! Oh, and I've been eyeing that silk peacock brooch ever since the Emici Bridal giveaway a few weeks ago... Thank you all for the generous prize!"

I am so happy to send you the peacock brooch and it makes me feel great to know that something I created is going to such a loving home. Thank you Brenda for organizing the giveaway and also thank you to all the other lovely vendors that I got to work with for this. It was a pleasure!

NEW RAPTURE ROSE COLORS

I would like to introduce the newest crop of colors that the silk Rapture Rose flower brooches are available in. This selection includes tender twilight grey dupioni silk, champagne silk satin, cream silk satin and chocolate silk taffeta. Yum!

Putting them together in this collection was something I could not resist. There will be more to come soon.

This tender twilight grey is something very interesting. It is charcoal meets silver meets heather. Displaying subtle hints of purple, it is a show stopping color. Here it is paired with my silver imported satin ribbon for a complete look.
