Yesterday I wrote on Facebook that this is what happens when you leave me alone in a room with silk chiffon, feathers, sterling silver wire, gemstones, rhinestones, ribbon and french net. Don't say I didn't warn you! Part of the new collection that will debut in Feb.

A little more in depth information about this piece is that the flowers are two shades of hand dyed silk chiffon that is then pressed into these beautiful blooms. I wanted to add more detail that radiates out from the center so I used some hand wired sprigs of sterling silver wire and crystal quartz drops paired with two kinds of blush feathers. The headband itself is wrapped with silk satin ribbon. Do you see the french net hidden in there? It also has some crystal quartz detail.

It's no secret that I am crazy for blush. It was my hope that by immersing myself in this fabulous color I might quench my thirst for it but I am not sure that it's working. Seems I love it even more!

SPRING PREVIEW WITH THE WEDLUXE WEDDING SHOW

This little bouquet is big on impact and completely handmade in the studio. Finished off with a simple luxe satin bow. There are going to be a lot of new details in the upcoming collection and I can't wait to share them with you.

GROWING MORE LOVELY

If you were to look around my studio you would see new projects in various stages alongside orders. Often times when I am working on an order I come to that fork in the design road where I have a new idea but I must first finish what I am working on before I can begin. Those ideas I quickly jot on a piece of paper that I always have near. This paper inevitably becomes saturated with my thoughts and goes into a neat stack to be reviewed when new styles are to be chased. Upon catching up with orders my attention goes to these new ideas and this process repeats over and over.

You might also see the remnants of some trials that did not turn out the way I had planned. These pieces, such as a silk chiffon that turned out a completely unintended shade of pink in a dye lot are put away for the future. It still has a purpose, even though I am not yet sure what that is. Various materials that I have acquired are also waiting for their turn in the sun. I still have a studio bouquet that I wish to create but it is so much more fun to create for as many people as possible so that has yet to come to light.

I write this to illustrate something. This is the time of year where a lot of people reflect on what they want to accomplish in this brand new year ahead. Perhaps you may look at your own projects that are in a state of wait or the things that did not work out as planned. To me, these are the badges of attempt. The first and most important step to reaching your goals. I wonder if, by focusing on what we want to do, it stops us from stepping back just for a quick moment and looking at what we have done. All these beautiful moments of triumph that are paving the way to our goals that lie ahead. Each success a potential budding limb on our tree of experience. Growing as we grow, becoming ever stronger and more lovely. Goals are wonderful, never stop striving and above all, take a little moment during the New Year celebrations and resolutions to see how far you have come.

FALL INTO INSPIRATION

Fall into inspiration with me won't you? It's quite nice here I promise. I have been holding off on posting about this photoshoot on my blog because it was betrothed to others. Now that it has been seen (most recently on Green Wedding Shoes here) I can show off some of these pretty images. Above is the Lana cuff that doubles as a chic side hairband as shown.

Emici Bridal has had product in other photoshoots but this is the first one that I have had the good fortune to attend. Let me tell you... I had the best time! First of all the people who gathered their talents together for this are so wonderful, warm and sincere. I spend a great deal of time in my studio which tends to mold my mind into micro focusing on my work so to have the chance to view the other aspects of this shoot and to meet the people who created it was really a special treat.

This shoot was styled by Romancing the Stone Styling and took place at Belle Victorian Gardens where the grounds hold lots of beautiful surprises around every corner. A truly magical place that I simply must visit again. The owners make you feel like family, it is wonderful and Pam is also the stylist for this shoot. I can't say enough about how great she is.

Of course it would be no post at all if I did not thank my lovely Easy Dreamer Photography friend Meg for just being Meg. I remember when I first met her and right away she was so bubbly and enthusiastic. I always enjoy my time around her and then to see the gorgeous pictures after she does her magic is simply icing on the cake.

Absolutely gorgeous!The triple hand created bloom cluster is created out of hand dyed black silk chiffon and organza fluttery soft petals. Fun is what comes to mind with this fascinator.

OCTOBER IS HERE

Happy Monday! Well October has just begun and I could not be more excited. I've already enjoyed some of the homemade pumpkin spice doughnuts that I look forward to all year long. So far, this is shaping up quite well.

I wanted to show you some of the newest departures from the studio featuring the Hera flower. The double bloom above has sterling silver handwired crystal quartz gemstone sprigs. I love this look going into the colder months.

Of course when you pair them with feathers it's always a classic favorite.

The first of the petal peach flowers. They have that pretty pinky peach shade that really holds an allure for me. Not sure what it is about this color but it's a perennial favorite of mine.

ALBUMS WITH PERSONALITY

I've admired these albums for quite some time. What I love about them is that they are handmade and each one is completely unique. Lacunawork on Etsy makes these fabulous albums in Portugal from old pieces of furniture that have already served their first purpose and are destined to be cast off. From there she lets the material guide her and aid in the final design. These are just amazing! When I look at them, I imagine future generations poring over these books and knowing just how special the contents must be by the grand treatment they have been given.

NICOLE AND DAN

If you were able to catch a couple of my other posts you may know that I love to hear the story of my clients. The natural progression of creating something is wondering about where it is destined to be once its time in the studio is over.

These pieces are intended for the wedding of Nicole and Dan who live in Seattle. Nicole's known story starts out in a way that is pretty amazing. Nicole is originally from Korea where, when she was about three years old, a policeman carried her into the White Lily Orphanage to live. No story is available about where she came from or why she was taken there in the first place. She was soon adopted by an American couple. Many events have taken place since then to bring her to where she is today and this fall she will be returning to that orphanage in Korea to be married to Dan. There will be a beautiful reception after they return to Seattle for friends and family that could not travel to Korea.

Now Dan happens to be an amazing artist and he drew this picture for their wedding announcements. Art and stories of love. Not sure if there is anything more powerful than that.

FRENCH SILK BROCADE PILLOW

Just a fun little post about a new ring bearer pillow I would love to share with you. This is created out of french silk brocade and backed in black silk taffeta. It borders on the masculine and I think it is quite fetching. The center of the pillow has stacked vintage buttons of abalone and glass with a rhinestone on top for good measure.

When I dream up a design idea the immediate payoff is my concept coming to life, holding it in my hands and feeling like its time in the studio has come to an end. The second part (my favorite) is that I know it has a whole new life meant for it now. Everytime a box is packed I picture the person opening it, that is when the new life for my designs begins. There are so many beautiful weddings and happy events that I get to be a part of this way. Here is just one of those stories.

Meet Amber and Adam. Amber wrote me asking for a custom purple silk flower bouquet and shared that she and her soon to be husband Adam were flying to Ireland to elope at the stunning Ashford Castle. Her custom bouquet would be a part of the select few things they would take for this beautiful expression of their love together. Imagine how happy I was when she sent me these gorgeous photos! I feel supremely lucky to have client photos sent to me. These are so precious and I truly adore each and every one.

Amber described her time in Ireland as magical and I can certainly see it in these images. The photographer is Pink Posh Photography based out of Austin Texas. You can check out her website here. NEW VELVET LEAVES

There are some new additions that are now available at Emici Bridal. I have sourced out the prettiest velvet to create two new leaves for you! These are my version of dusty miller and rose leaves. Each is hand cut and formed in the studio. I love the way they shimmer and move. Above you see the ivory and cream Silk Catala and Jeweled Bloom Bridal Bouquet with dusty miller leaves as an accent.

The Jeweled Rose flower has never been available as a single stem before now. This is the Jeweled Rose in champagne silk satin with pink freshwater pearl accents. I paired this stem with the new silk velvet rose leaves and an ivory luxe satin bow. These are perfect for bridesmaids to carry down the aisle and also make really special gifts. Each flower is made completely by hand.

If I recall, so many pages were folded down because I wanted to mark them that it looked more like an origami project than a flat magazine. THE SECRET KEEPER

This very special ring pillow has a secret. The flower on the top is actually a fascinator hair clip that easily clips into your hair for a different look at your reception.

This fascinator is handmade out of various silk fabrics like chiffon and silk satin with hand colored accents to add a subtle variance to the fabric. Beaded with genuine crystal quartz, white topaz gemstones and rhinestones. Simply gorgeous!

Let's not forget about that ring pillow either. It is created out of silk dupioni and ivory vintage alencon lace for a little romantic charm.

ALL BLUSH LULY BOUQUET

Wanted to take a moment to share with you the latest bouquet to leave the studio. This is the Luly Bouquet in all blush silk fabrics. These bouquets are made entirely out of silk fabric that is cut and formed by hand. Flowers are then embellished with various rhinestones and pearls to add more dimension and sparkle. Each silk wrapped stem is its own piece that you can mold in any direction.

Kidding! As you know, wearing white after Labor Day is completely fine. In spirit of this old time saying I thought I would post some new things that have popped up using our dramatic friend, the color black.

Above is the Noir Rose sash that I created for a photoshoot. It is constructed out of silk satin and chiffon petals. The soft petals frame a vintage silver rhinestone brooch that is beaded with genuine pink freshwater pearls. One of a kind and sure to make an impact!

Yesterday I launched several new flowers. This is the Black Raven Hera flower that is beaded with freshwater pearls, crystal quartz and white topaz gemstones along with rhinestones for even more added sparkle. Black feathers seduce your inner dark side. Simply gorgeous!

DREAMS OF ROMANCE

What dreams of romance do you delight?

What flights of fancy do you take flight?

Do you walk in gardens laden with blooms,

flitting about to take in the perfume?

I really wanted to depart from the usual with these new items while remaining classic. Of course you start with the best materials available but that is not enough. It needs more, something to set it apart. So I settled on using gemstones for these new offerings. The small flower comb above is handmade out of silk chiffon fabric with sterling silver handwired white topaz sprigs. The center is beaded with crystal quartz, white topaz and rhinestones for even more sparkle.

These fluttery soft chiffon flowers are available in several sizes and for different uses such as sashes and fascinators. They can easily be sewn onto a dress. Don't have time? Just order them as a brooch!

The brand new Lana pleated silk chiffon beaded cuff makes a great statement peice and is also available in champagne, silver, light pink and black. I also will be offering this style as a headband. Fancy a fascinator instead? That brings me to the piece on the right. The Bevin grand sterling silver wire branches of crystal quartz and white topaz gemstones flank a gorgeous soft bloom.

Feathers, flowers and sparkle is such a classic combo. Designing all these pieces and then pairing them made the possibilities endless! Sometimes during the design process you create things that are really concept pieces. The one below is one such piece.

One of a kind Minova flower. This large silk bloom is made out of various silk fabrics. Heavily beaded with dozens of gemstones in the center because I just simply could not stop myself and that is a good thing. One more here and there turned into a lot! Can be used as a hair fascinator or as a sash flower. Off to the next, it's COLOR!

Experimentation in the studio is a beautiful thing and you never really know what you will get. I wanted to create some colored flowers for my brides. These are hand painted to achieve this look. Color slowly fades to soft light ivory. Available with feathers or by themselves, either way a unique addition. If you would like a custom color please contact me, we will have some fun!

WISH UPON A WEDDING

I was in the Phoenix airport when I received an email on my phone about the wedding of Jon and Alyssa. My mind was preoccupied with all the details of my day that seemed important at the time such as making my flight, managing my carry on coupled with my drink and so on. The email was unexpected at that moment, as I sat waiting for the plane to board I opened it and began to look at the photos. Pulling the images up on the little screen I held almost immediately my eyes became swollen with tears and contrasting emotions ran over me. Happy that I could be a very small part of some magically amazing team effort and utter heartbreak for the reason why charity like this must exist at all. Yet it must and it's so important.

Wish Upon a Wedding is a charity that grants wedding wishes to couples who are facing a terminal illness or serious life changing circumstances. They organize and provide beautiful weddings to these couples who would not otherwise be able to have them due to the circumstances they are in. Vendors donate product or services. There are other ways to help too so please check them out.

In 2009 Jon was diagnosed with brain cancer and after several treatments and surgeries the cancer has remained persistent. There are few things as devastating as cancer and also few things as wonderful and triumphant as love and support. Let's celebrate the love of this couple together. I think it is the best thing that we can do to honor love and the radiant beauty it provides.

This is exciting! I have always loved WedLuxe. This luxury wedding publication from Canada is absolutely gorgeous. If you are not in Canada but still love all things pretty and I know you do. You can check out their blog by clicking here.

I was honored to collaborate with CANDICE&ALISON Luxury Events for this shoot. The all white concept set against this exposed brick hooked me right away. The results are stunning.

Love the way that they used the Catala Bloom brooches I created by pairing them with the pearls on the chairs.

Then last but certainly not least, the Catala Bloom all white bouquet I created for the shoot. It's such a wonderful thing to be able to work with so many talented people in the wedding industry. So sweet right? I look at this picture of Alicia and Kyle from Charity Wedding and my heart melts. Sure it is because they are so adorable but there is a whole new layer of heart melting goodness when you read the story behind the images.

ADORABLE TIMES TWO

One of my absolute favorite things is when I receive client photos. I get to design for some of the happiest occasions in life but to see the images of the event is truly the icing on the wedding cake if you know what I mean.

This client purchased two of my silk Rapture Rose brooches and pinned it to her very own pillows. They are just too adorable so I had to share with you.

And here we have adorable times two. What is cuter than a ring bearer? Two ring bearers. This photo is one of my top faves. Thank you to my client for sending these fabulous images to me. I am so honored that I get to share such a special moment with you through my work.

SHROUDED IN CHIFFON

Shrouded in chiffon, the love you bring.

The new collection is here! This time I wanted to present you with a lot of raw edge silks for something a little different. The way the edge feathers out is really intriguing and adds so much visual interest. Speaking of lots of visual interest you will see as you progress through these designs that rhinestones and pearls add lots of sparkle and glitz. Let's just say that no new Emici Bridal creation was spared from this glorious fate. Above you see the Alison ring pillow, also available in bridal white but shown here in ivory. The center is heavily jeweled with rhinestones, Swarovski crystals and freshwater pearls.

The Jasmine luxe satin ribbon bridal sash with a heavenly layered cream silk chiffon and silk satin bow that is jeweled with rhinestones, genuine freshwater pearls and Swarovksi crystals.

These Juliet vintage alencon lace ring bearer pillows have a layer of sheer silk chiffon over the lace so the pattern is more muted than other lace pillows. Woke up this morning to more snow and as I write this it continues to fall. It's quite beautiful, the way it blankets everything in white and hushes all the sounds. Pretty hard to believe that it is March 1st. This photo sums up today for me. All white background as my thoughts race to pink peonies and their lush petals. Quite the contradiction on this snowy day.

These peonies are handmade out of silk satin fabric and centered with rhinestone details. You can special order your own set in a custom color also.

Customer photos are one of my absolute favorite things. My creations are a piece of a wedding puzzle so to see the larger image with the other pieces is truly a pleasure. When I received these amazing photos from my client I could not wait to share them with you. Stunning is one word that comes to mind but I still feel that it falls short.　

The color scheme was burgundy and olive. It is interesting to me that when you choose a color palette that is really only a small part of the design. Then you also have to decide what flowers and decorations are going to answer the color call. I love how Kate brought everything together!

Let's continue the parade of new ring pillows that are now available from Emici Bridal. I recently acquired some beautiful vintage alencon lace that you will be seeing more of throughout the designs. The ring pillow above is created with blush silk dupioni that has the lace overlay. I also added a voluptuous blush Catala bloom in the center.

One of a kind, this ivory silk ring pillow will cast a spell on you. The wide sash over the top of this pillow is bordered with a tulle ruffle. I felt that this pillow needed to boast a vintage mother of pearl brooch. The mother of pearl pieces are some of my favorites.

One more lace piece for you today. This classic combo of lace, pearls and crystals is always a favorite.

This is the newest crop from the studio. For this first silk dupioni ring pillow I wanted to design something completely different from anything I have done before. It boasts three silk ribbon and organza bows topped with rhinestone banding.

This ivory silk satin ring bearer pillow is one of a kind. The center of the pillow was constructed in a fluid manner, a little bit of this here and a little bit of that there. The collection of fabrics on this pillow includes silk chiffon, silk satin ribbon, tulle, alencon lace and an ostrich feather for good measure (of course). Hand beaded with genuine freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals.

Linen is a fabric that I have not had lately in the studio. When I saw this beautiful fabric I really wanted to present something to you using it. It has been paired with vintage materials. Of course the antique mother of pearl button is a special touch that is close to my heart.

I am very pleased to announce that Emici Bridal is featured in the Spring/Summer 2011 issue of Town and Country Weddings. This is such a beautiful publication, one that I have always admired and I am honored that they have featured my work. Anytime that I design something it is a goal to make it as beautiful and unique as possible. My handmade silk fabric flower arrangements are each constructed with hand cut petals and various embellishments to produce an heirloom worthy of the occasion that will last long past the nuptials.

Above is the bouquet that I created upon request for Town and Country Weddings. It features pink silk satin peonies and catala blooms in orange and white silk dupioni all tied together with a luxe double faced orange satin ribbon. Each bloom is centered with sparkling silver rhinestones. This arrangement would surely bring a burst of colorful energy to any ceremony.

NEW YEAR'S EVE AND THE NEW YORK BOUQUET

Happy New Year's Eve! As I write this people are gathering in Times Square to wait and watch the ball drop to ring in the new year just as many have done before them. Yet, each is a unique experience in life. To me this is the perfect time to debut the one of a kind silk sculpture known as the New York Bouquet. It is the 3rd in the City Series, a series of bouquets that are inspired by iconic cities.

New York is full of inspiration but I chose to focus on the architecture for this piece. The fabrics were carefully chosen in a grey tone palette to pay homage to the massive stone and concrete buildings that define Manhattan.

The sea of windows that seductively wink back at you throughout the city are represented by the vintage square crystal buttons that you see scattered about the bouquet. Each one plays with the light and will flash rainbows at you if you give them the chance. The vintage faceted crystal balls represent the iconic ball that will drop in Times Square ushering in another year full of promise and intrigue. Pleated silk chiffon leaves add strong defined lines and contrast with the gentle curve of the silk fabric flowers.

Each flower is hand cut and formed, looking closely you will see two different dupioni silks and a silver silk satin. Freshwater pearls mingle with the rhinestones. Smooth elements compliment textured ones and the entire ensemble marries together to form the New York Bouquet.

Meet Midsummer Night's Dream, the first in the series of new home decor handmade silk fabric floral mini arrangements from Emici Bridal. One of a kind since this is paired with a vintage silver plated vessel. Perfect for the desk, home or bridal decor.

Each flower is cut and formed by hand using gorgeous silk fabrics. This tempting arrangement features plum, taupe and lavender champagne dupioni silk flowers centered with silver rhinestones and lavender freshwater pearls dotted here and there.

The flowers feature silk wrapped stems and can be removed from the vintage silver plated container for easy polishing and also allows you to use the flowers in other containers to maintain versatility.

Client photos are one of my absolute favorite things to see in my inbox. They offer me a glimpse into the life of my designs after they leave the studio and a chance to share beautiful moments with my much appreciated clients. These were recently sent to me by Stacy.

Stacy had me create for her a custom black silk taffeta rose with a genuine freshwater pearl flower center. It was then paired with a black satin ribbon sash to complete the look. Love the contrast, it creates such a dramatic effect.

Such a fabulous dress!

Ah love! They look so happy, such a beautiful moment. Stacy also chose an off white silk chiffon flower with the same freshwater pearl flower center to wear in her hair. The pearl flower helped to tie together both the sash and the fascinator.

KENTUCKY BRIDE AND SOMETHING BLUE

So honored to have my silk dupioni cobalt Rapture Rose featured in the Kentucky Bride Fall 2010 issue! The feature focuses on "something blue" for the wedding. Best of all, the blue can really be from anything! Your imagination is the only boundary!

In honor of this I wanted to post my most recent somethings in lovely blue hues. First there is a silk charmeuse ring pillow in a whisper light blue. The secret to this ring pillow is that the flower is actually a detacheable fascinator that you can wear at the reception!

Beaded with rhinestone and genuine freshwater pearls and also accented with tulle, chiffon and feathers. Whimsical and glam at the same time.

Last but not least we have a lovely silk dupioni with delicate embroidered dots. I paired this with a silk satin ribbon, a silver rhinestone flourish and some more of the same freshwater pearls. Each of these pillows is hand tufted with a mother of pearl button on the back.

THE PARIS BOUQUET

Yes! I am so happy to be able to bring you Paris, the second bouquet in my city series of handmade silk bouquets that are inspired by iconic cities. I simply could not resist the lure of white, pink and black for this challenge. Way too tempting!

This bouquet features two brand new flowers, the peony and anemone. Peonies are my favorite flower so I just had to produce my very own version. The anemone flower was created specifically for this bouquet. The combo of the black and the white was perfect for this arrangement. Also, something really interesting about this bouquet is that the ostrich feather collar is removeable if desired!

This is a vintage beaded button from Paris on the stems. I found this while shopping for supplies and just had to include it. I am only human after all.

Each flower is cut and shaped by hand. The anemone centers are silk taffeta buttons that are hand beaded with black glass beads and black Swarovski crystals around the edge. The catala flowers and the peonies are centered with rhinestones.

Ah the lure of a peony...

There are also companion pieces to the bouquet. Above is a small white silk dupioni ring bearer pillow with a white silk and black net bow. On top of the ring pillow is a detacheable fascinator that can be worn at the reception. Two purposes in one pillow!

Second is this white silk dupioni ring pillow with the same black and white silk anemone flowers with beaded buttons. The bold black beaded leaf appliques really make this piece stand out. This is a one of a kind pillow.

I also created this fanciful ring pillow with white ostrich feather trim and a pink silk satin peony. Variations on this style are available such as black feather trim or an ivory pillow.

Let's not forget brooches and sashes! I love these peonies so you will see more of these coming into the Emici Bridal offerings.

Such a cute little number. White silk satin ring pillow with a hand dyed ombre silk dupioni ruffle that is topped with black velvet. A silver rhinestone flourish finishes it off.

I guess that there is only one more thing to talk about. The next city in the series of bouquets. I am THRILLED to announce that it is New York! Things are really busy here but I wanted to take a moment to share a couple things with you. Here are some recent departures from the Emici Bridal studio. Above is a sterling silver compote that is filled to the brim with Catala flowers! I adore this so much.

Brand new styles of flowers are coming! Chiffon petals will flutter in the breeze as they are backed by dupioni and ostrich feathers. Show stopping indeed!

This photo was recently taken to illustrate the size of a Catala bloom brooch and I just had to include it in this post. There is more that I can't show you yet... Please stay tuned!

The little attendants will steal the show! I had the chance to participate in a photo shoot by Solace Arts Photography that took place at the University of Washington recently. This shoot was featuring the Flower Girl Boutique's adorable dresses. I provided some little pearl centered silk Catala Flower brooches for accents on the sashes of the dresses. They are a fun way to add a pop of color. I am in love with these pictures! BOUQUET RUNWAY DEBUT

I recently attended Urban Unveiled in Seattle. You may remember the Luly Blush Bouquet that I created for Luly Yang Couture. Well, I got the most wonderful suprise when she used it in the opening look for her fashion show at Urban Unveiled in Seattle. I had settled in for the parade of gorgeousness that was coming my way and the first model was carrying the Luly Blush! I am actually standing fairly close to the photographer so this is a good representation of what I got to see. Swoon worthy indeed! The show had a mix of several collections including pieces from her most recent Ocean.

Luly is amazing and her designs always inspire me. Here are a couple other shots from the fashion show. These photos were taken by Vivian Hsu from Team Photogenic. This is a picture taken from the new Lady of the Manor fashion spread. I had horses growing up and these photos combine two worlds that are amazing! My love for horses and my love for fabulous wearable art. Could a girl get any happier? This is one of my favorite shoots ever.

THE GANG'S ALL HERE!

Here are the new ruffle ring pillows! Some got a little ruffle and some got a lot but I think that is the nature of design. You just go with it and see what comes up. All of these are one of a kind designs since the silk ruffles are hand dyed and placed.

Bold purple silk pillow for your rings. This striking color combo packs quite a dramatic punch.

Teal dupioni silk with the green to blue hand dyed ombre silk ruffle. The center boasts a pretty floral rhinestone design.

Larger than the teal pillow is this square lavender one. You can see the pretty color variance that you obtain with the dye process. Measures about 8 inches square.

The pink pillow from the original sneak peek. I don't know what it is about pink but it's always a color that I am drawn to. When I was a little girl I wanted a pink corvette and a pink house. That is probably when it all started. Luckily for my neighbors, I have grown out of those aspirations but the lure of pink still lingers on for me.

The classic champagne and ivory dupioni combo. This is one of the pillows that got more ruffle than others. I paired this pillow with a leaf and flower rhinestone design and also placed the ruffle across rather than diagonal. Hope you enjoy this mini collection! NEW STYLE SNEAK PEEK

Here is your sneak peek at a new collection of ring pillows coming soon to Emici Bridal. These pillows feature silk ruffles in various shades and shapes. The one above is silk satin with an ombre hand dyed dupioni ruffle topped with a gorgeous rhinestone center. One of a kind since each hand dyed ruffle will have variations.

I can tell you that these have been really fun to plan and the days of dye stained fingers were all worth it to bring you these one of a kind ring pillows! Don't forget to stop by later and see the rest of the collection.

SEATTLE BOUQUET

Here it is! Seattle is the very first bouquet in my new series of one of a kind bouquets that are inspired by iconic cities. When some people think of Seattle they may think of grey clouds and rain but not me. Seattle to me is vibrant and eclectic just like this bouquet. Full of inspiration and life coming from many different angles and yet it all comes together beautifully in a show of color and art.

The bouquet is tied in lavender and purple dupioni silk ribbons and topped with a vintage rhinestone button. Each stem is wrapped in emerald green silk dupioni.

Normally my bouquets feature clear rhinestones but I wanted this bouquet to be all about color. Each orange and fuchsia Catala bloom is centered with genuine freshwater pearls in orange or fuchsia and Swarovski ab crystals. The enormous teal silk bloom is also accented with peacock freshwater pearls and a gorgeous vintage brooch.

The small lavender blooms are created out of lavender dupioni silk and hand dyed ombre silk to create a special depth within the cluster. Each one is hand cut, pressed and centered with a genuine freshwater pearl.

Of course this would not be the Seattle Bouquet without an emerald flower for the Emerald City. This boasts a bold green ab vintage rhinestone center.
The next city in this series is... Paris! I have some great ideas coming for this bouquet. I hope to see you back here for that reveal!

SILK SCULPTURE CITY BOUQUET SERIES

An idea has been swirling around in my head lately for a new pet project. Making these bouquets out of various silk fabrics is something that has been a great exploration of techniques for me. So I want to announce that I am planning on designing a very special series of one of a kind bouquets that are inspired by iconic cities. I asked for your help on Facebook and Twitter for inspirational cities and you really delivered, thank you so much! Choosing which ones to attempt will be difficult but I can tell you that the first bouquet choice is easy for me and will be...

Seattle! This city holds many memories for me so I feel it is only fitting that it's the first one. I will be visiting Seattle again very soon for fun... no, I mean research and work. My plan is to complete one of these bouquets a month with detailed blog posts about why I chose the colors and shapes that will be featured in these pieces of silk sculpture. Also, I will be tagging all of my bouquets as "silk sculpture bouquets" so they can be found easier. I do hope that you will check in on my progress and let me know what you think. Each new city will be announced when I unveil a completed bouquet. Now let's see what I can do.

I am very busy in the studio for the next couple days with orders but I have to share this picture with you. This is just a small example of why I am so in love with Luly Yang Couture. I was lucky enough to be able to take a very quick trip to Seattle and had to stop by to see the display in the window that featured my Luly Blush Bouquet and ring pillows. Thrilling to say the least. This dress is so romantic it would transport any girl to a dreamland if she could just try it on.

This is just some of the items that came out of the Emici Bridal studio this week. Above is the long awaited companion flower girl basket to the Catala ring bearer pillow. This will be added to the online inventory soon.

This is a sash that I designed for a lovely lady. It features a silk satin ribbon, silk dupioni Catala blooms, rhinestones and alencon lace accents. Very feminine and romantic.

A few pictures of an all ivory and cream silk flower bouquet. I really adore these bouquets and can't wait to create one to keep on display in the studio.

QUICK UPDATE

I did a post earlier about my admiration for Luly Yang Couture and how the Luly Blush Bouquet came to be. Well... I was recently told by my great friend that the bouquet and some of my ring bearer pillows were displayed in the window of the boutique. He snapped these photos for me to share. If you ever have the chance to view the windows at Luly Yang Couture you are in for a treat. Several street side windows will greet you with the prettiest vignettes of couture creations. Next time I go I will bring my fainting couch with me because I already know what will occur. Just when I recover from swooning over one thing I am swooning over another.

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words but it is so difficult to capture the little details, softness of hand or sparkle in photographs. I hope to return soon to see in person what else Luly has in store to make my heart flutter.

BOXES AND BOUQUETS

Having friends in the wedding business is great for me and also great for the client. When you know where to send your customers for the best of what they need. I have had the pleasure of working with Marni at Creative Card Boxes recently. Marni is passionate about providing the best card boxes with extreme attention to detail. The second reason why being connected to other professionals is great is the opportunity to collaborate and spread your design wings. Marni was kind enough to ask me to create a bouquet to coordinate with one of her beautiful card boxes. I used fuchsia and orange crush colored silk dupioni to create these flowers and centered them with rhinestones. The bright colors are so bold and one can only dream of how fun this wedding would be. I am extending the color selection of my silk flowers extensively and wanted to share the newest eye popping colors with you. Above is the Orange Crush Silk Catala Bloom Bridal Sash. You can order just a blossom also. This bold orange presents fuchsia highlights are every turn.

LULY YANG COUTURE AND THE LULY BOUQUET

Luly Yang Couture. What can I write about such an incredible place? I have been thinking of this blog post for some time now. Number one, the clothing is incredible and I think that is an understatement. How do you describe creativity in design that blurs the line from fantasy to reality? Truly, works of art are what hang on the racks. Above is her signature monarch butterfly dress. This gown is where it all started for her and represents her metamorphosis into fashion.

I wandered into Luly Yang Couture one day unprepared for the wave of inspiration that was about to wash over me. I know that I was quite vocal about my immediate admiration for the articles there and it took just about all of my strength to not really go over the top and to maintain, as my mother would say, my "inside voice". After that I knew I had to go back but first I wanted to present something to Luly to illustrate my admiration for her work.

Let me tell you it is very difficult to design something for somebody that has given you so much inspiration and has personally created so many fabulous things. I wanted to make something that was beautiful and would hopefully be a bit of a surprise to her. I was honored to be able to meet with Luly in her boutique and present what I had specifically designed for her. She took the bouquet in her hands and turned it to view from all angles. With much anticipation I waited for her verdict on whether or not she liked it. She asked me what the name was and I told her it did not have a name yet. She said with a smile, "It is the Luly Bouquet" and I happily agreed. She is gracious, generous and a pleasure to visit with.

Many hours go into each of these works of art with hand picked fabrics that are grouped together and then cut, formed, embellished and added to the silk wrapped stems. I used blush, champagne and ivory silks to create this arrangement. I am thrilled to say that you can view this bouquet in person in her Seattle boutique. Each flower boasts centers that sparkle with a few genuine freshwater pearls here and there to add a bit of interest. It is named The Luly Bouquet after her of course. PLUM'S THE WORD

Some of the new additions this week to Emici Bridal. This gorgeous plum color just had to make a debut. Above is the Rapture Rose sash in amethyst purple silk dupioni with plum ribbon.

The Plain and Simple Luxe ring bearer pillow in ivory silk dupioni and plum satin ribbon. Perfect as a simple elegant pillow for a wide variety of weddings.

The Catala Bloom will always be one of my favorites but when it is made out of a shimmering lavender champagne fabric and coordinated with these ribbons watch out!

This sash screams and is muted gorgeousness all at the same time. I really can not get enough of these together. The way the champagne hues dance in the light with flashes of subtle purple makes my heart melt.

One of my favorite things about what I do is looking at my email inbox and finding customer photos that were just sent to me. Anybody who creates understands what it means to see the finished setting that a small detail you made was a part of. I love the endless combinations put together with different colors, flowers, attire, location and so on. These are the latest pictures to be sent to me from my client Elease.

Really love this. It has the unexpected quality that makes you look at the whole picture. They seem to be on their own road with the unformed in front of them, ready for their own personal journey through life together.

One word. Adorable.

I don't know if it's possible to have a more charming photo. Sure, you can have different settings and photos that are just as charming but not more. You know the world is happening around them but in all the action and noise for this moment it seems that all they see are each other. This is the look I love about well, love! WHAT'S NEW?

This post will be dedicated to some of what is new at Emici Bridal and also an upcoming sneak peek at a future offering. Above is the Mariposa Flower in white silk taffeta and organza. It's made as a bridal hairclip but could also be a brooch on a sash. This is a new technique for me that I have not done before. For the sneak peek, plans have already hatched in my head concerning this style so be on the lookout for more colors and some pretty varied pairings coming soon!

The Catala Bloom bridal sash in off white. I am pretty obsessed with these flowers and I don't think that it will subside very soon. It's just too easy to get lost in the ruffled petals!

When one is good, many must be great! I present to you the Catala Bloom Bridal Bouquet in ivory silk dupioni. This bouquet is completely handmade with silk dupioni flowers centered with rhinestones. These bouquets can be ordered in just about any color. Each silk flower has its own stem that is bendable to any direction and covered in green silk. This bouquet can be taken apart if desired so the possibilities for these flowers in really endless.

A larger off white Catala Bloom Bridal Bouquet. Creating these flowers is very time consuming but the results are pretty fantastic. It will also last forever so this makes a great keepsake that can be enjoyed for years to come. I can imagine an heirloom brooch added to this on a pick for a personal family touch.

This is Stephanie and she recently sent me an email with the link to the blog of her photographer so I could see these gorgeous pictures of her wedding. Let me tell you, Stephanie is so nice and was wonderful to work with. I created her custom bridal sash from dupioni silk, silk chiffon, rhinestone and Swarovski crystals tailored to her request. Just created this custom bridal sash for a great client of mine and wanted to give you a peek. I used silk chiffon and dupioni flowers to make the floral arrangement and centered them with rhinestones for a little bit of sparkle. There is a lot of detail in this little number.

I have a three new additions to the Emici Bridal lineup to tell you about. First off are two new colors of Rapture Rose brooches. Both of them pack an incredible color punch so if I were you I would be on the defense.

CATALA FLOWER

I've just returned from the grand gardens of Fantasia and managed to bring back some new flowers! There will be more from this line to come as I am told by the little fairy horticulturist that these can be created in all sorts of colors and varieties. It will be fun to see what pops up next. Of course, if you need a custom color right away please don't hesitate to ask. Fairy magic has been shown to produce very quick and magnificent results.

I really love the structure of this ring bearer pillow. Shown here in blush pink and ivory silk dupioni. Each flower is made by hand and features genuine freshwater pearl centers. It measures about 8 inches square but makes a much bigger impact than some of the other same size pillows.

This is the Catala Bloom Bridal Sash in blush pink. Created out of dupioni silk petals and centered with a burst of rhinestones for added sparkle. This is also available as a brooch and matching hair pieces are coming soon.
