BRIDES MAGAZINE LIVE WEDDING

This post is a lot of fun for me to write. Recently I was contacted by Brides Magazine and asked to create a ring bearer pillow for the Brides Live Wedding. Honored and excited I set out to create a very special ring cushion. This wedding was to be streamed online for all to see as it happened. Side note: You can still watch the wedding if you want! Many of the details had been chosen by online votes as well. Sounds like fun right?!

Check out the photo above from the wedding rehearsal that Brides Magazine posted to their Instagram feed. That ring bearer is one cool cat for certain. The ring pillow was created out of silk taffeta with a softening silk chiffon overlay. A simple taupe satin bow ties the ring pillow into the color scheme.

This incredibly awww worthy behind the scenes photo was posted to the Brides Live Wedding Facebook page. My heart can't handle the supreme cuteness and yet I only want more! The wedding will also be featured in an upcoming issue of the magazine. Will be on the lookout for that! I want to send a big congrats to the happy couple Briana & Jason! Also thank you to Brides Magazine for sharing this very special occasion.

BLOOM

Meme Francesca loves her blooms. No secret there. These flowers start out as white silk chiffon and organza. The fabric is hand dyed in small batches and pressed in the studio.

MEME FRANCESCA

IMG_5384[1]
Recently I brought a new lady into the Emici Bridal studio. She is lovely and extremely patient with me and my finicky design moments, even at their most extreme. Naturally, it makes perfect sense to give her a proper name. I asked anybody who would listen what they thought her name should be. Thank you to all who played the name game with me here, on Twitter and Facebook. You make life fun. After a while I settled upon what I thought contained her essence. Friends, I present to you
Meme Francesca.

Now you will see me referring to Meme Francesca wearing certain pieces. Take the photo above for example. There you will see Meme Francesca wearing Gala. A pretty piece from the new Emici Bridal collection coming soon. Gala is designed to be used as a sash or headband but you know it would not have to stop there. Anywhere you want Gala, Gala can be.

INCHING EVER CLOSER

laceheadband-emicibridal
I have been pondering a lot. Mostly my thoughts go to my designs and who I see wearing them. My newest collection of offerings is steadily moving toward the launch date. It is strange when you are creating, sometimes it can be hard to know when to quit and just put it out into the world for others to see. You hope that people see something special in your work and that it serves your vision.

The sneak peek above is of a vintage French chantilly lace headband I finished recently that I call Artemesia. Many content hours are represented in these photos. I trimmed the lace in rhinestones and freshwater pearls along with silk satin and silk taffeta details.
